The 38 EC can reach top speeds in excess of 70mph with Mercury 525s. Scale back to twin Mercury 425hp, 496-cu.in. engines and cruise long range at 50-plus mph while still topping out at 60mph plus. The cockpit has space and comfort to rival any wide-beam cruiser on the market today. At the helm, two side-by-side drop-down bolster seats put you and your companion in complete control. Opposite, a port-side lounge seat is a perfect spot to catch a few rays. The party moves aft with a large, wrap-around settee—seating six—with a removable table and wet bar with an ice maker. Below decks, the 38EC, with its 10' 6" beam and 6' 4" "headroom, includes a master stateroom with a double berth, dresser, and a cedar-lined locker. Aft, there is a cabin sleeper with a stand-up head with VacuFlush toilet, sink, and shower. The galley features a sink, microwave oven, and fridge/freezer. The 38EC's list of standard equipment is extensive. Combine this with an optional genset and AC/heat, and you can enjoy boating year-round. The 38 has Fountain Mercury's revolutionary Twin Step Positive Lift hull with a notched transom and a pad keel.
